The Dynamic Spectrum Alliance was honored to participate in IEEE DySPAN 2025, held at the historic King’s College London during the event week.
Recognized as the premier global forum on spectrum technology and policy, DySPAN provided a vital platform for sharing knowledge on innovative approaches to spectrum management, access, and sharing.
Our President, Martha Suarez, represented the DSA in several key sessions, actively engaging in discussions alongside leading experts from industry, academia, and government. Martha highlighted the Alliance’s ongoing commitment to promoting efficient and inclusive spectrum access worldwide, addressing topics such as local area networks, spectrum R&D, and sharing frameworks.
One of the highlights was her participation in the workshop “The Role of Spectrum Regulation for Wireless Communications of the Future”, where she joined experts from Ofcom, CEPT, ECO, GSOA, and other key organizations.
Additionally, Martha took part in the closing session of the workshop “Future Challenges in Spectrum Policies”, joining a distinguished panel of experts:
-
Cristina Data, Ofcom (United Kingdom)
-
Martin Weiss, University of Pittsburgh (United States – remote)
-
Moderator: Marja Matinmikko-Blue, University of Oulu (Finland)
The panel addressed emerging challenges and strategic directions in spectrum policy, emphasizing the importance of forward-looking regulatory approaches in a rapidly evolving wireless environment.
The DSA was also represented in the panel “Indoor Wireless Innovation”, chaired by Dean Bubley (Disruptive Analysis), which explored how spectrum sharing models such as CBRS, 6 GHz, and indoor-specific allocations can enhance wireless connectivity in sectors like healthcare, education, and industry.
The panel included the following experts:
-
Dave Wright, Policy Consultant
-
Michael Calabrese, Open Technology Institute
-
Detlef Fuehrer, Hewlett Packard Enterprise
-
Martha Suarez, Dynamic Spectrum Alliance
-
Martin Brock, Shure
We thank IEEE DySPAN 2025 for hosting such a rich and timely event. Our sincere thanks also go to all participants for their insightful contributions and dedication to advancing inclusive and efficient spectrum access.
