The DSA 2024 Global Summit!

The Dynamic Spectrum Alliance Global Summit will be held in person on September 23-25, 2024, in Geneva, Switzerland; at Hilton Geneva Hotel & Conference Centre.

The Dynamic Spectrum Alliance’s Global Summit is the premier event for policymakers, regulators, and industry personnel on Spectrum Sharing.

Sessions will include private discussion-oriented workshops and roundtables for Regulators, keynote presentations, and regulatory and industry-focused panel sessions led by Summit sponsors.

It is important to note that this year the DSA Summit is co-located with the Wi-Fi World Congress Europe 2024 - WWC, which is the world’s only conference & expo 100% dedicated to showcasing and supporting the global Wi-Fi industry.

Spectrum management with a user-centric approach - End Users
Industry Presentation

This session focuses on the evolving landscape of spectrum management with a user-centric perspective. Key questions to address include:

• How are users accessing the Internet? What does Internet traffic indicate? What is the relationship between indoor and outdoor traffic? How does it change for developed markets, islands, and LDD?
• How can innovative spectrum management frameworks contribute to ensuring that users get meaningful connectivity?
• What are the user expectations in terms of broadband access?
• How can dynamic spectrum access enhance end-user experience by providing reliable, high-speed connectivity across various devices and locations?
• What is the role of different technologies in addressing users' requirements?

Spectrum management with a user-centric approach - Enterprises and Industry users

Industry Presentation

In this session, we aim to explore innovative spectrum management approaches and practical applications that empower Enterprises and Verticals.
It will examine the increasing importance of spectrum sharing and dynamic spectrum access in meeting enterprise connectivity requirements and how innovative regulations can ensure spectrum access by removing unnecessary barriers. Different sharing models and mechanisms will be considered, including dynamic spectrum access, cognitive radio technologies, licensed shared access models, hybrid frameworks, and license-exempt models.

• How can the latest advancements and future trends in Wi-Fi technologies improve enterprise connectivity?
• How have different administrations targeted the needs of enterprises and verticals? From the experience, what have been the real pros and cons, and what can enterprises expect in the future?
• How important is the 3.8 - 4.2 GHz Band for industry applications such as high throughput data services and IoT? What are the latest regulatory considerations in place leveraging this band?

02:45PM

User’s demands in the era of AI and the path to 6G

Spectrum sharing has become increasingly part of the connectivity scape, as the demand of our hyper-connected world outpaces the availability of traditional exclusively licensed spectrum. The morning sessions considered the current situation on the evolving landscape of spectrum management with a user-centric perspective. In this afternoon session, spectrum requirements for future networks will be considered. In particular, spectrum requirements for the future generations of Wi-Fi, candidate frequency bands for IMT are under study for WRC-27, such as the 7/8 GHz bands. Can Dynamic Spectrum Management Systems (DSMS) address requirements for more available spectrum in the short term? (Current status of DSMS, possible improvements)

Government and Commercial Spectrum Sharing, creating a value proposition for everyone
Industry Presentation

This session will explore the role of dynamic spectrum access, collaborative strategies, and innovative approaches to maximize spectrum utilization while creating value for all stakeholders. Modern spectrum-sharing systems have proved the technological maturity to facilitate value propositions for government agencies of the spectrum while enabling access opportunities for commercial operators and even a wide range of final users. Implementation requires appropriate policy and regulatory frameworks and collaboration among stakeholders, including government agencies, commercial operators, and industry associations, to foster a sustainable spectrum-sharing ecosystem.
